This year, we imported this freshly harvested frankincense from the summer immediately after the harvest. This frankincense is still a little sticky and damp. It glistens in the sun. All the aromatic compounds are still present in this frankincense. A completely new fragrance experience! Genuine frankincense from Oman, dispatched straight after harvest. As always, of course, sourced from the rocky desert in the hilly countryside near Salalah. This is fresh Al-Hojari frankincense, the finest quality frankincense from Oman. We are offering this frankincense here!

The world's finest frankincense has come from the south of Oman, the border region with Yemen, since time immemorial. This was the starting point of the famous Incense Route. Thanks to its high content of essential oils, this very fine frankincense from the Dhofar Mountains exudes the intense, typically balsamic scent of frankincense.

This is what sets its quality apart from frankincense from other countries. We sell based on the quality of the scent, not the colour. The colours are a mixture of white, yellowish, brownish, greyish or reddish, often with a greenish sheen. This is not tourist frankincense, but is entirely typical of Omani life. We do, however, sort it by different sizes.

Omanis generally prefer larger pieces. In the south of Oman, the monsoon season prevails in summer. It is then humid on the coast, and the mist extends right into the hot, dry desert. These unique climatic conditions in the harvesting region create the best growing conditions in the world for the high-quality 'Al-Hojari' frankincense. This is what distinguishes Omani frankincense from all other varieties.

With the help of Omani friends, we import unsorted frankincense directly from the desert. This ensures that we receive only authentic produce that has not been sorted by middlemen or mixed with other varieties and/or adulterated.
