Myrrh from Yemen
Just as the best frankincense in the world classically comes from the Sultanate of Oman, the best myrrh in the world is harvested in Yemen. Already in the Bible, the two resins, together with gold, were presented to the newborn Son of God in the manger as a gift by three wise men from the East. It is certain that these resins came from the Dhofar region on this side and on the other side of the mountains in what is now Oman or Yemen.
We obtain mainly large light brown pieces with a soft, woody fragrance as an import from the Sultanate of Oman. The size, the colour and the hardness of the resin say something about the quality. This puts us on the highest quality level.
We wondered whether it was right to source such a product from a country at civil war, but our Omani friends assured us that we were helping the people there.
