Our pure frankincense hydrolate is a 100% pure hydrolate, with the addition of 5% undenatured alcohol to prevent germination. Frankincense hydrolate is obtained during the gentle distillation of frankincense resin. For the distillation of frankincense hydrolate, we only use the high-quality frankincense of the species Boswellia sacra from Oman. Our precious al-hojari frankincense is only gently penetrated by steam during distillation, taking the essential oils with it. The essential oil and the water then separate again, leaving some water-soluble components of the oil in the hydrolate and giving it its unique aroma. Because we work with small amounts of steam and short distillation times, our hydrolates are richer in content and surprisingly intense, unlike other forms of distillation. However, the concentration of the ingredients, which are also contained in the essential frankincense oil, is so low that it can be applied directly to the skin without hesitation.
It is also good for humidifying the air in rooms with dry air. The restrained, pleasant scent is not as intense as that of essential oil.
Frankincense hydrolate is best stored in a cool (below 10 °C) and dark place.
