Our specialty is the import of frankincense from Oman.
This year we were able to buy very fresh frankincense from the summer harvest at a fair price.
In the long run we will all have to come to Terms with rising Prices. Oman, like many other countries, is affected by strong climatic changes, it is often hotter and drier and sometimes there is an unusual amount of rain. Last year, when I was driving through the desert with my Omani friend, who buys the incense for us, we saw some old withered trees. This is not a good sign.
We always buy unsorted frankincense in 40kg bags from a specific valley in Dhofar and sort it in Germany. This is the only way to get original al-hojari frankincense from Oman, not mixed by middlemen. (There is a Dissertation about our frankincense, if you are interested, please contact us.)
The fresh insense harvested in late summer is a speciality. It is still a little soft inside the large pieces. All Boswellia acids and fragrances are contained in this fresh frankincense.
