The Craft Heritage of Oman is a stunning two-volume publication that documents the traditional craft industries of south-east Arabia in their entirety. The book is a celebration of Omani artisans and the traditions they embody, which have remained remarkably intact in the face of rapid progress, and provides a fascinating insight into the lives of the Omani people. Endorsed by UNESCO, The Craft Heritage of Oman positions Omans craft industries within the global arena for crafts and craftsmanship and will be valued by all those with an interest in the heritage and culture of Arabia.
In 2003, Dubai-based Motivate Publishing was appointed as publisher of The Craft Heritage of Oman. Working closely with His Highness Seyyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said and the authors, the manuscript, photographs and other illustrations have been transformed into two books of the highest quality.
