Myrrh Essence Oil Ibn Saif, 10ml
Botanical name: Commophora molmol
Plant family: Balsam tree family (Burseraceae)
Our myrrh oil is distilled in Oman from the finest Yemeni myrrh resin. The smell is very strong, so that one or two drops are enough to perfume a bath. Myrrh oil finds its place today especially in perfume making around the world. Why not try making your own perfume!
However, the oil also smells very nice and intense on its own, but diluted with other oils as a carrier.
All essence oils are too intense to be applied undiluted to the skin or even taken orally. They cause skin irritation or mild burns. The oil can be used especially well dissolved in fragrance lamps and fills the whole room with a balmy scent.
The myrrh tree can grow up to 10 meters tall in Yemen; the resin is harvested by cutting the bark, similar to rubber and frankincense. The resin hardens, and its reddish-brown color is characteristic.
Myrrh, according to old records, used to be weighed in gold, similar to frankincense. Myrrh essential oil is extracted from the resin of the myrrh tree. It has been used for centuries as a perfume, incense and to promote health.
Not suitable to be taken orally!
