Henna Omani, 250g
The henna paintings have their origins in India, North Africa and Arab countries. They often have ritual meanings: the henna is said to have a cleansing effect and it is supposed to protect against the evil eye. Hands and feet are therefore warped with henna when special protection is needed - for example, when the bride leaves her family.
Henna powder is obtained from the ground, dried leaves of the henna bush, which is why real henna powder is green-brown and only darkens to the typical red-brown to mahogany-colored shade on the skin.
The henna does not penetrate the skin, but discolors the uppermost keratinized skin cells. Due to the natural renewal of the skin, these layers of skin gradually flake off and the henna tattoo fades. After about three weeks it \'grew out\' and you can no longer see it.
You need:
Henna Omani
Hot water (not boiling!)
A spoonful of lemon juice
A small bowl and a spoon to mix the paste.
=> Mix into a dough and, depending on how dark the color should be, leave to rest for 30 - 60 minutes
A toothpick to apply, alternatively a henna tube.
Cotton swabs for corrections
Oil to take care of the skin afterwards
There are also stencils available for those who cannot draw the patterns by hand.
You can also use this powder to dye your hair, the mixture is mixed in the same way. To achieve other color nuances, you can also add coffee powder, but then you should not add lemon.
Warning, henna dries out the hair, so a hair treatment is recommended afterwards.
