This booklet gives detailed information on the Dhofari sambuq, a ship sewn together entirely with coconut fibre and a mixture of pitch and sardine oil. It was still in use on the Dhofar coast until the early-1980s.
In memory of the late captain, Ahmed bin Jum\'aan al Raa\'iy (Ahmed al Shaqar), samubuq captain of Taqah harbour, who passed away in 1968.
