Robert Baldwin, Company Director, Head of Conservation

Rob Baldwin has lived and worked in the Arabian region, mostly in Oman, UAE and Qatar, for over 20 years. He began his career in Coastal Zone Management and went on to author the National Coral Reef Management Plan for Oman. Rob's experience has broadened to include a range of multidisciplinary environmental, research, education and conservation subjects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), environmental monitoring, auditing and training. He is a recognized authority on the region's cetaceans and represents the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as an advisor to the Cetacean Specialist Group. His current research interests also extend to sea turtles and coral reef habitats. Rob has been a driving force behind the establishment of the Environment Society of Oman (ESO) and is currently Head of ESO's Marine Programme. Rob has written and produced educational literature and numerous scientific papers and books on marine subjects.
